Services are held for Hun Joon Lee at St. Raphael Korean Catholic Center in Norwalk on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Lee, a 19 year old special needs student from Whittier died last week after being left on a school bus at a Whittier Union High School District parking lot in Whittier.
Fr Solanus was born in Wisconsin to Irish parents. His mother Ellen had been taken to Boston by her mother Bridget (nee Sheils from Dungooley Cross, Kilcurry) after the death of her husband Michael Murphy from Camlough. Ellen married Bernard Casey from Castleblayney, Co Monaghan and they had sixteen children, including Fr Casey, who was born Berarnd (Barney) in 1870.
