Liz had been quite frustrated all summer at the lack of tomatoes which were ripening, many fruits on the vine but so slow to ripen. At a market in September our market manager Chris Curtis asked Liz if she be interested in submitting a tomato for Jon challenge which she declined because of how few fruits we had and her low expectation of them. Jon came by a few hours later and asked for the beautiful, large German Red Strawberry tomato sitting on our display (which had been admired by many, but apparently the size scared them off) and it became the winning tomato!.
I am exhibiting symptoms of classic burnout after hosting the Free For All for six and a half wonderful years. I am hoping to make an exit that will allow both Superego and the FFA to continue independently.” Starting in March, Superego will only be hosting the show occasionally with organization chores being taken up on other weeks by either members of the band or special guests. Any volunteers?..
“It’s really amazing. We come out every day knowing this could be our last day,” Prince George Senior Pitcher Laura Thompson said. “And for us, when we woke up this morning, eight of us came out knowing this is the last time we are going to put on a Royals uniform on.
He gives some away, turns others into apple jelly, or cuts them up and tosses the slices with sugar and cinnamon to freeze for pie making in the months to come. Apple trees can live a long time, as long as the memories of children picking apples with their great grandfather. Glad I planted them, Bissett says..

Is visllluK her sislp Pnrry Forlprfield, 1314 Virpln nvenue. Gs Kr Ralph Bonders. The Wnshlnglo County Hospitnl on Tuesday and I improving Mr. Meadow Lea Cottage, Church Street, Stiffkey is for sale along with a range of outbuildings, including the brick and flint studio of Henry Williamson. The three bedroom cottage with a lovely garden and river frontage, apparently attracted many fans of the book over the last 30 years but the owners always resisted having a blue plaque put up.This is the first time ever the cottage has been sold away from the farm. The sale is the result of the owner living abroad but the farm, which now includes converted agricultural buildings, is owned separately. Over the years the cottage was once lived in by a gamekeeper and about 10 years ago, was modernised and has been rented but in recent years, was an occasional residence for the owner.London born Henry Williamson came to Norfolk about a decade after his book Tarka the Otter was published in 1927 and after selling the farm in Norfolk, in 1946, he moved to Devon where he bought a wooden hut where he wrote many of his later books, often sitting alone there for 15 hours a day.
